The corporate world is becoming increasingly conscious of its larger social role and responsibility. Corporate social responsibility places expectations on businesses to pursue profits and societal betterment simultaneously. An organisation’s most fundamental choice is to either adopt a ‘band-aid’ approach or an inclusive vision of CSR and integrate it into its strategic plans on an ongoing basis. In the long term, companies should look beyond the short-term bottom line and recognise that investments in society today will pay off tomorrow. First, we accept this responsibility, then we establish processes to engage in socially responsive activities on a planned, systematic basis. The opportunities are vast, and the concept is still in the process of defining and redefining itself.
Keeping this in view, SATYA, in partnership with HospiHealth Consultants Pvt Ltd, organised a one-day event, ‘CSR Fest 2023,’ with the objective of establishing closer ties between corporates, NGOs, universities, and healthcare institutions to set new agendas and overcome challenges in the health and education sectors. The FEST offered a platform to discuss CSR initiatives in India and facilitated the exchange of ideas and best practices for transformative learning, driving greater social impact and reach in education and health. We look forward to forging alliances, collaboration, and partnerships to carry out CSR initiatives with a range of institutions and other supporting bodies. It is important to note that a well-established network of partnerships among institutions and individuals can enable the smooth and efficient delivery of our education and health services.
Bringing these isolated activities under a consortium and working towards a long-term sustainable development model were the primary aims of this event. The fraternity of social development professionals, educationists, health care professionals, and corporate leaders examined the best strategies that CSR heads are embracing in current times, as well as future trends, to build long-term associations with NGOs from different parts of the country and sustain interventions under specialized expertise to effectuate long-term, consistent changes. The participation and input from social development professionals, educationists, and corporates will help us build future collaborations and partnerships. Through CSR, corporates have made their presence felt in the social system beyond their purely economic role.
