1. Executive Summary

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, a Free Health Camp and Adolescent Awareness Drive was successfully organized for tribal and underprivileged children in the Hawa Bangla area (Vidur Nagar, opposite ECS Bagless School), Indore. The initiative was jointly hosted by the Society for Awareness and Transformation of Youthful Aspiration (SATYA) and Sarthi Shiksha Roshan Seva Samiti (SSRSS), with active collaboration from the Rotary Club and Lions Club.
Running from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the camp delivered comprehensive health checks, physical evaluations, hygiene counseling, anti-tobacco education, and nutritional support to 105 children. The event effectively addressed immediate healthcare needs while identifying underlying health concerns to guide future interventions.

2. Key Activities Conducted

  • Comprehensive Medical & Physical Examinations: Qualified medical practitioners provided free health consultations for 105 children. Detailed screenings included evaluations of height, weight, blood oxygen levels (SpO2), dental hygiene, vision assessment, and malnutrition scoring.
  • Hygiene Education & Nutrition Distribution: SATYA team members conducted warm, interactive sessions with the children to promote daily sanitation and personal hygiene. To support immediate nutritional intake, healthy Dabur Juice packets were distributed to every child.
  • Anti-Tobacco Awareness & Pledge Session: In alignment with promoting a substance-free community, an interactive awareness drive was conducted. All participating children took a solemn pledge promising to refrain from using tobacco or related harmful products throughout their lives.

3. Key Findings & Challenges Identified

  • High Prevalence of Calcium Deficiency: Post-camp medical assessments revealed that a large proportion of the children suffered from severe calcium deficiency, posing risks to their bone and dental development.
  • Persistent Dietary Deficits: Socioeconomic hardship in the area prevents many families from providing consistent access to balanced, nutrient-rich meals, leading to systemic nutritional deficits among growing children.

4. Future Plans & Institutional Commitment

Expressing deep concern over the health findings, Dr. Suresh Sehgal, Founder and President of SATYA, reaffirmed the commitment toward long-term child welfare:

“Our primary objective is to ensure that the nutrition and education of these children continue smoothly without disruption. To achieve this, SATYA will continue to work tirelessly at full capacity, delivering necessary medical and developmental aid.”
 — Dr. Suresh Sehgal, President (SATYA)
  • Key Strategic Goals:
    1. Targeted Medical Intervention: Providing calcium supplements and follow-up medical care for affected children.
    2. Sustained Nutritional Support: Implementing periodic health drives and nutritional assistance across underprivileged pockets.
    3. Holistic Child Development: Integrating educational resources alongside healthcare drives to ensure overall growth.

5. Acknowledgements

The organization expresses sincere gratitude to SATYA Founder & President Dr. Suresh Sehgal and Mrs. Suman Gyani for their presence, guidance, and meticulous supervision of the event. Special appreciation goes to the medical team, volunteers, Sarthi Shiksha Roshan Seva Samiti (SSRSS), Rotary Club, and Lions Club for their invaluable collaboration and support.

6. Conclusion

The ‘Free Health Camp’ organized in Indore stands as a meaningful step toward bridging the healthcare and awareness gap for tribal and underprivileged children. Beyond providing immediate medical evaluations and essential nutritional support to 105 children, the event successfully highlighted critical long-term health concerns—such as widespread calcium deficiency—that require sustained intervention.

Through the combined dedication of SATYA, Sarthi Shiksha Roshan Seva Samiti, the Rotary Club, and the Lions Club, the initiative not only addressed urgent physical health needs but also empowered the community’s youth through hygiene education and anti-tobacco advocacy. Moving forward, the ongoing commitment of these organizations to secure balanced nutrition and uninterrupted education will be essential in building a healthier, brighter future for these children.
